Magnetic system

What is NRC and what NRC rating do these panels have?

NRC (Noise Reduction Coefficient) measures how much sound a material absorbs, on a scale of 0 to 1. U-TONE panels achieve NRC ratings of 0.70 to 0.90 depending on the panel type and thickness selected. A rating of 0.80 means the panel absorbs 80% of incident sound energy. For reference, untreated concrete absorbs roughly 0.02.

What is U-TONE made from?

U-TONE panels are manufactured from a recycled polyester felt substrate. Each square metre incorporates 88 PET bottles. The felt is dense-pressed to 180-200 kg/m³ and precision-machined to the finished profile. No adhesives, no formaldehyde, no VOC-emitting binders.

Can the panels be cut to custom sizes?

Yes. All U-TONE panels are available in standard sheet sizes (2400×1200 mm, 2400×600 mm, 1200×600 mm) and can be cut to project dimensions at our facility. Custom sizes and radius work are available from 12 m² per pattern. Tolerances are ±1 mm on cut dimensions.

How are U-TONE panels installed?

Three systems are available: concealed Z-clips (standard for most projects), direct adhesive, and a magnetic system for panels requiring removal access. All three involve no major civil intervention. Installation is carried out by trained Unidus teams in 16 cities across India.

What is the lead time for supply?

Standard lead time is 4 to 8 weeks from approved sign-off drawings. This covers manufacturing, quality inspection, and delivery to site. Sample boxes despatch within 2 working days. Fast-track options are available for urgent timelines; contact the specification desk for details.

Are these panels fire-rated?

Yes. All U-TONE panels carry Class B1 fire rating to BS 476 Part 7, meeting the requirement for Class B reaction-to-fire specified in most institutional and commercial briefs in India. ASTM E84 test reports are available for export projects or US Green Building compliance.

Are Unidus Acoustics panels available for government projects?

Yes. Unidus Acoustics is registered on the Government e-Marketplace (GeM). U-TONE panels have been specified across AIIMS campuses, SBI facilities, and government institutional projects across India. GeM product listing codes and compliant specifications are available on request.
